Introduction -Documentation Index -Shareware and Registration -Screenshot -Our Products -Contact Information
4. Reference - Preferences
4.1 General Options
- Number of Receive Channels. This defines how many simultaneous channels you wish to use to receive files from other users. If you have a slow net connection, set this to 2 or 3.
- Port. This is the TCP/IP port that will be used for incoming connections. Normally there is no need to change this.
- AutoStart. Checking this will start the server automatically on program start.
- File containing Web Page. This is the local copy of the web page to be modified and uploaded. Select it using the adjacent "Select" button. For information on how to code this HTML file please see the Technical Reference. Note that the local file name does NOT need to be the same as the file that ends up on the web server. If no file is selected, or an empty file is selected, WebiToome will upload a simple default page.
- FTP URL to upload page to. This must be a full file URL ( ie: the last bit must refer to a file name ) that can be used to upload the web page to. The file specified in the previous field will be uploaded to this URL. An example:
ftp://ftp.somewhere.com/public_html/webitoome.html - FTP Login. This is the FTP user name to be used to log in to your FTP server. It is normally the same as your user name that is used when you dial in to your ISP.
- FTP Password. This is the FTP password to be used to log in to your FTP server. It is normally the same as your password that is used when you dial in to your ISP.
- URL indicating Successful Upload. This applies once a file has been received. If left blank, WebiToome will respond with a simple "Upload Successful" response. However, you may like to redirect the user to one of your other web pages to acknowledge the upload. If you enter a URL here, WebiToome will issue a redirect to the client's ( sender's ) browser, pointing to the URL entered here. An example:
http://www.somewhere.com/~myspace/welldone.html - URL indicating Failed Upload. This applies once a file transmission has started. If left blank, WebiToome will respond with a simple "An Error Occurred" response. However, you may like to redirect the user to one of your other web pages to inform the user about the error. If you enter a URL here, WebiToome will issue a redirect to the client's ( sender's ) browser, pointing to the URL entered here. An example:
http://www.somewhere.com/~myspace/welldone.html
4.2 Registration
If you have paid the registration fee you will have received a registration code via email. To register your copy of WebiToome, enter ( preferably by copy-and-paste ) your User Name and Registration Code into the fields shown here, and press the Register button ( NOT the Save button ).
