WebiToome has the facility to redirect the user's ( sender's ) browser to some other web page on completion of the file transfer. This is achieved by responding to the browser with an HTTP 302 redirect message. You can set this up in your preferences.
Likewise, a failed upload can be redirected to another of your pages.
From my experiments is seems that modern browsers ignore resource forks when POSTing files. So make sure that your users Stuff/binhex any such files before sending them to you, and remember that PC users have no use for resource forks.
The default port is set to 8080, but you may alter this if required. Just please make sure that you understand what you are doing so as not to create any port conflicts on your computer.
WebiToome allows others to send files to you. Who knows what they may contain! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for making yourself aware of the dangers of computer viruses and for taking appropriate steps to virus check any files received using WebiToome. This is just basic good practice in the internet age.
WebiToome attempts to monitor PPP if the option is selected in the preferences. If a drop is detected the server is stopped as best as possible, with the "listening" channel being closed. If WebiToome later detects that PPP is back up it will restart the server operations and re-upload the web page.
WebiToome will automatically retry FTP uploads of your web page three times if an error is detected. If it still fails you will need to stop the server and try again.
WebiToome can automatically set the Mac file Type and Creator codes for incoming files based on their file extensions ( the letters after the last "." in the file name ). You may maintain these codes via the menu option that will bring up a maintenance window. You may add new ones or delete any existing parameters in this window. Setting these up correctly for your machine will allow you to double-click on downloaded files to open them with your chosen application.
