You may use SockeToome for receiving files, for sending files, or for both. For you to receive files, the remote user ( the sender ) must log into your SockeToome, and the necessary details must be provided in the Receiving section. For you to send files, you have to connect and log in to the other person's SockeToome, and he/she must provide you with the details to fill out in the Sending section.
In either case, the user is known on YOUR SockeToome by the user name you give him/her in the Receiving section.
To Add a user, enter the data into the sections as described below in 5.2 and 5.3. You MUST provide the User Name in the receiving section, as this is how the user will be know to you. Then press the Add/Update button, and the user should be shown in the list on the right of the screen.
To Delete a user, click on his/her name in the list on the right, and press the Delete button.
To modify a user, click on his/her name in the list on the right, modify the details displayed, and press the Add/Update button.
To clear the input fields prior to adding a new user press the Clear button.
The user data is saved when you press the Add/Update button.
To exit press the Close button.
Choose a User Name and Password for the user who will be sending files to you. You will need to inform them of this information, together with your web page URL if you are on a dynamic IP address.
If you are going to send files, you need to find out from each other person what User Name and Password he/she has assigned to you to enable you to log in to his/her SockeToome. Enter this information here.
You also need to know whether he/she is on a static or dynamic IP address, and to select this appropriately in this section. If Static, enter the IP address, and the Port ( if told that it is different to the standard ). If Dynamic, enter the remote user's web page URL ( eg: http://something/ ), and do not worry to fill out the Port field, as this information will be contained in his/her web page.
