Introduction
SockeToome is a file sending program that transfers files to other SockeToome users. It does NOT involve any central server application, ensuring your privacy. It can be used by people with both static and dynamic IP addresses. It communicates directly user-to-user, thus bypassing the need for both the sender to upload and the receiver to acively download for a file transfer. SockeToome:
- Is SEND based, transmitting at the sender's convenience
- Automatically retries connections
- Automatically resumes transfers
- Can simultaneously receive up to three files while sending up to four
- Is very simple to set up and use
- Allows unattended operation at both ends
- Can be used to back up critical files to a friend's computer
